About Underhill Walls & Jeff Beler
Underhill Walls is a curated public art initiative founded in 2015 by Brooklyn-based artist and curator Jeff Beler. Situated at the corner of Underhill Avenue and St. John’s Place in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, the project has evolved into a respected destination for large-scale mural work. With a focus on high-quality, site-specific installations, Underhill Walls regularly features contributions from both established and rising artists in contemporary public art. The rotating outdoor gallery has become a notable fixture in the New York art scene, offering creative opportunities that extend well beyond the neighborhood.
Jeff Beler: Curator and Public Art Producer
With over 25 years of experience in murals, art curation, and design, Jeff Beler is recognized for his role in shaping Brooklyn’s public art landscape. He is also the founder of Washington Walls, launched in 2022 at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Clark Place. Like Underhill Walls, the project brings curated mural installations to urban space, supporting meaningful creative collaborations and helping artists build strong visual portfolios in a highly competitive environment.
Beler’s projects often intersect with education and community development. At P.S. 9 in Prospect Heights, he curated the STEAM Mural Project, which began as a tribute and grew into a school-wide installation involving over 75 artists and students. The result: an expansive mural series across the school’s exterior walls, playground, and basketball court that continues to inspire dialogue around art and education.

Through curated projects that balance artistic freedom with professional execution, Underhill Walls continues to contribute meaningfully to New York City’s cultural fabric.
